I assume they're going to wait for a bit to allow everyone some ample time to upload their work that way when it gets pegged (as it most likely will) even with the new limit uploads hopefully won't be affected too much.

any good admin could limit the download server to say 80 MB/s. you only need a tiny bit of download bandwidth for handshaking on upload.

so they are going to wait for everyone to upload so we can all hit the download server at once. people have queued downloads, why not let them start.

me thinks they do this s&*^ on purpose!!!

looking at the graphs, it only requires about 1% of the upload bandwidth for handshaking (download bandwidth).

I respectfully disagree with your characterization of all the S@H staff as "not good".

Considering the connection is already having issues at max bandwidth, i doubt limiting it is effective.

Also you mean 80Mb not 80MB.

80MB = 640Mbit

We only have 100Mbit connection which is 12.5MB.

So 20Mbit for uploads = 2.5MB.

So essentially say goodbye to uploads since i'm uploading at 20KB/s each work unit. That means me alone could max out uploads.

perhaps it would be a good idea to turn off downloading of AP work units since they are large.
