I recently noticed that my boinc client runs a bit unstable with Seti@home workunits. Sometimes not only the manager crashes also my pc freezes completely.
Many of the wus have stopped with calculation errors.
I also run WCG, this makes no problems. I thought about a heat-issue of my cpu, but other projects work.

Has anyone else noticed this problem?

Nope.. never noticed that problem. And you have chosen to hide your computers, which is fine but blocks any serious guessing as far as what configurations you might be having problems with.

I've never had that problem. Can u give us info on your computers, such as processor, RAM, any temp's that can be monitored? Since your computer's are hidden as soft^spirit stated, we don't know anything of your computer. It could be heat related as you said, as SETI pushes the CPU a bit harder than other projects. If your using the Lunatic's optimized apps, that will heat it up even more. May need a good cleaning, better airflow, re-seat your heatsink, just some idea's.

I am crunching for a long time now, and i never had this problem. It is a problem i just encountered since about a week.
I run this boinc client on my core i7-920 cpu , no gpu work is accepted. the problem persists on my windows 7 ultimate x64 and my windows vista pro 32-Bit.
I have 6 GB of G-Skill Ram (3 x 2 GB installed).
The temperatures (read with coretemp64) are about 65 °C, not quite uncommon to me with 8 of 8 hyperthreaded cores enabled. All fans are working, and i clean them regularly.
So until i've found a clue i won't crunch any seti wus. There are many other projects i am participating in, no probs - all fine, except seti.
The manager is the last stable release 6.10.56

Is your system maybe overclocked? Seti is about same good as Prime95 to find out whether a system is really stable or not... so you can also check it with Prime95 to be sure if it runs stable with that.

6GB is fairly minimal for win7-64 ... especially if your video is "shared".

I have not yet had win7 lock up. Programs yes, OS no.
But this is just an observation. And no, no similar experiences here.

I only have 3 gig and have never had a problem win7 64 bit.

My Seti rig has only 2Gb and Windows 7 x64.
No problem at all :)

And now back to the problem itself. I never recognised problems with my 6 GB of memory so far. My system isn't overclocked, it runs at factory default 2,67 GHz per Core. Intel Turbo Boost is deactivated. Prime95 ran stable about 2 Hours.
I will now use Memtest to check my RAM.

And your computers are still hidden, so we haven't been able to read the error messages yet.

Prime95 ran stable about 2 Hours.

If you are using your GPU for crunching, it should be pushed hard while running Prime95, use Furmark for that. Otherwise you don't have the same load on the system as when crunching.

Hello there.
Sorry for the late answer.
My problem was a mixture of different symptoms coming together.
I had a defective memory module which only acted strange under special
circumstances (just the Memtest86+ bitfade test figured it out, this test is not selected by default)
Some of my systemfiles were also damaged (especially the video driver and the
i/o-driver from the intel controller hub) and it seemed that my power supply got a bit hot, the fan of it was very dusty (this was the only fan i didn't check).
