It's not an error. It's A new system for runtime estimation and credit.

And that's my last word on the subject.

If you look at the results in question, both that were from my computer had valid and honest run time values.

Whereas the results from the other machine had 0.00 for a run time value.

I submit that something in the process is incorrect and my machine time is being penalized for an error on the calculation of granted credit.[/b]

Yep... strange things are happening... on this one I claimed 84, wingman claims 141... we're granted 368 credits.

Also noticed a spike on this hosts average credit a couple days ago, but since I did detatch, that picture is gone :(

The new credit system isn't exactly perfected yet, over at beta i was reading threads of extremely varying run times and credit granting. It's probably another one of those things that's going to take a little while to get at that 'sweet spot'.

They're fixing this one as well:

Changeset [trac]changeset:21761[/trac] - user web: don't show claimed credit

While looking through my tasks page I found three in a row that paid out 365.08 credits. The funny part was that both myself and my wingman had -9 overflow results on all three of them. I thought at first I had found the key to the high credits but I checked a couple more and they were ok, not -9s. I do miss the claimed credit column though. It would be nice to know which of us or both of us is claiming those high numbers.

Divide the flopcounter value from the Task page by 3.0316e+11 to get claimed credit.

Easier still look at your pending credits page.

I guess this is a dictatorship after all!!!

More likely suppression of SETI's independence by BOINC's occupational forces ;)

And on-topic: One can observe credit weirdness through comparison of CPU time and granted credit also. But don't look at it too much, it's too depressive...

The credit system is definitely broken.
When my CPU WU is paired with CUDA partner there is half or less credit received than previous. With CPU partner it looks somewhat normal (as before).
Alltogether a lot less than it used to be.

So fix it or cherry picking will start.

Where does this factor come from?
It may have applied for SETI until the last time the credit calculation system was revised two years ago - more recently, the figure has been in the region of 3.7e+11.
