A "sent box" and some type of "who's online" notification would be nice.. I can think of several things that would be nice.

But, everything added to the forums has an impact on the servers. Extra storage space, more queries to the database and even adds work/time to the backups.

With SETI already working near and sometimes above it's limit, adding extra features to the forums would just make things worse. I.E. Slower recovery times after outages.

So, even though new features would be nice for the forum users, it's not so nice for the servers. And when all is said and done, this is a science project and the science should always come first.

My opinion... Keep the forums simple and spare the servers the extra work.
