KenzieB,
After wadeing thru all of the flack, I want to ask you if you are having fun? I have been looking for you in the pictures of the crowds, but I have not seen any tall thin ladies dressed in black, where are you?

Have fun
Pellinore

I haven't attended any events. (Who can afford the tickets?!?)

I haven't had a chance to go to any parties or shows connected with the Games yet (been working) but am off for the next three days so . . .

Side note: Anyone have tickets to the Hockey gold medal game? (It'll be Canada vs some also-ran.) :o)

There were many dangerous falls and the track was rather bumpy, so safety was not up to the standard of World Cup racing. It is true that rain and snow do not mix well. Anja Paerson had a horrible fall and was lucky to stay with no serious injury. Anyway brava Lindsey but also Julie and Elisabeth.

In my basement I still have a 2.15 m Rossignol giant slalom ski pair, made of aluminium, and a 2.10 Kneissl made of wood and carbon fibers. But I am a cross country skier now.

Jaerbyn (41 years old) made a horrible fall in the Super G. I hope he is getting better but he is still in hospital. The Super G is a folly which should be banned because racers are not allowed to do any test run. The number of falls in the women downhill was due of lack of test runs because of bad weather. Unfortunately, TV schedules dictate all of this sport and athletes pay the price.

Canada has a few of those, and they are real heartbreakers. A person can be the fourth or fifth best at their sport in the whole world, and nobody notices.

Ever tried it? Some games are called 'games of inches'. A good curler can place a stone within a centimeter (1/2 inch) from 150 ft.

One good thing about Curling, And that is one doesn't need to know how to ice skate, Heck I couldn't even master roller skates, So an ice skate and Me wouldn't mix either, Even If I was in shape to do so, Besides I'm not Curly.

Was on ice skates about once in my life...some 40 years ago...
It was not pretty, and have not ventured there since. My ankles are far too weak for it.

I have, though, since then, always been amazed by those who have mastered the craft.
Pairs skating in particular. Two hearts that can do that together......wonderful.

Ouch.......

Best is not to smash your partner into the ice......
God, I think they almost killed one another.

Best skip the fancy lifts........
The one where her head smashes face down into the ice from a full lift is really scary.......
I hope she survived that one.

1:40 or so....

The bum skiffs are funny, this was not.

And the tragic thing is that these pairs' lives are so entwined, it almost does kill them when the other gets injured.

Canada 1, USA 0. End of the first period.

It's now Canada 2, USA 1, 2nd period(7:20).

It's now Canada 2, USA 2, End of 3rd period(0:00).

I believe that makes it a sudden death overtime.
