Free shipping is an illusion. They're building that into the price of the product.

I don't mind the illusion when the overall price is less with no additional shipping charge.

It's like walking into the tire store and they quote you for the tires, and then for mounting, then for new valve stems, then for balancing...

Just give me the price out the door. I'm not interested in the intermediate details...

My local, preferred tire store does exactly that.

Trouble is, when they quote $50, the competitor quotes $39 (plus Excise Tax, Plus Mounting, Plus Balancing, Plus sales tax), which is more, but looks like less.

7%, Sounds nice and low, Here in California It goes between about 8.25% and 9.75% at most.

I feel bad for you both. We don't have sales tax in Delaware.

That's a new one to me. I thought all states had income taxes.

Nope, Washington State has sales tax instead of Income Tax. Ours is 9.5%...I wish I could offer free shipping but 55 lb cases of wax would bankrupt me in a hurry.

Seems there are 7 states that don't do income tax.

I don't know how much wax would fit in a large USPS flat-rate box, but have you considered casting blocks to exactly fit?

Can We put a Toyota car computer in that Museum? ;) To some It seems to act like proverbial Cylons(kill all humans), Some people have had their cars towed to the dealer and then left them there as they were too afraid to drive a Toyota ever again. Now We need some Toyota jokes to replace the old Ford Jokes as It seems Ford is now seen as reliable and Toyota is not, weird. I am sure glad that I own a FORD. :)

As to shipping I paid $7.87 for an Asus P7P55D Pro motherboard(Open Box) from Newegg that I'd ordered on Monday and received on Tuesday.

I love overnight "ground" shipping :D I normally get that when I order from amazon as one of their shipping centers in located near me.

FedEx and UPS both normally ship "Overnight ground" if you are in same state. So never choose the more expensive option if the shipper is in state.

Yep, Amazon is my friend. No tax and free shipping on most orders over $25.
