Aww, thank you everyone. I am genuinely touched

I've had a sore throat for a couple of weeks now. Last week it turned into an infection, so got anti-biotics for it but it's got worse and worse. I had to go back to the Docs yesterday as my throat has got raw and bleeding and now I have lost the hearing in my right ear. Continuation of the anti-biotics and a week at home in front of the gas fire and get plenty of is what was ordered and is what I'll be doing!

For those of you lucky enough to live in places warm enough that you don't need to sit in front of a gas fire

Hope you feel better soon too Uli.

It has to be oxtail soup!

(Hmm, don't expect they have that in the US?!)

Feeling grotty this evening, but no worse, which is a good thing. I can't stop coughing which is aggravating my throat even more.

No! You wouldn't want a photo of me right now :p

I woke myself up coughing in the night I don't know how many times. I'm having a large mug of coffee to wash down all my pills (Thanks for the extra Amoxicillin Lilikrist) and some cereal, which I'll have to leave to go soggy - then probably back to bed.

Thanks Ang, Uli and SJ. Yeah SJ, it would have been nice if I could have gotten a shot (any shot) before I got sick. Based on recent history, I'm fairly certain it's H1N1, but haven't seen a doctor. I usually handle this stuff pretty well. And the fever broke before I ever felt bad enough to think about it. Now it's just getting rid of the cough that most people say lasts for weeks...
