How many do I have to make?????? (Don't tell Lori.....she would not understand). LOL.......good thing you are not next door. Might not be pretty, but it would be real. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

;-p I`m not so sure that I understand more than Lori. ;-)) Neither does she sometimes........ We both luv kitties to death.......and the problem is, we are both seeing the end of the road for some of our beloved......and it hurts a lot. And when you have that much pain in a relationship, no matter what the cause....there is gonna be trouble. Simple things turn into arrows to be shot at the other person. Without dealing with the original issue. My alcoholism used to be a given, but with her son now going off of the deep end......I am the lightning rod for her angst. And I cannot defend myself. I have no grounds to. And I do not blame her......she is an ex alky about 20 years back. An 'until I die' alky..... And I saved her from the brink at that time because I loved her. That is our history together for more than 20 years. So that it always in the background. She has been clean since. I never had the strength to walk away from it. Post card time. That's a great view out your window. We had some snow too. But we have to drive about 30 mins to get to it. I live in the valley visible in the picture down below. Opps, Still don't got the hang of posting pictures. They were both suppose to be 640 x 640. Sorry. |

Some years ago-nevermind how long precisely- I was on a long road trip. I went through Canada, north of the Great Lakes, in December no less. While I was there we had about 3 feet or 1 meter of new snow almost every morning. Fortunately most of the new snow blew away or evaporated during the day. When finally I got back home to California, I spent the night at my mother's house near San Francisco. That night it snowed in her back yard, about 1/4 of an inch or 1/2cm, and my mother woke me up, all excited, saying "Steve, it snowed last night!" I was all sleepy and saying "So what. Why did you wake me up?" She wanted me to go outside and take pictures of the snow and I had had about all the snow that I wanted to see for some time! :-/ I guess it all depends on your Point of View. |

hehe... Been there. We were able to get out via the balcony, but could not find the car or the road. Ended up getting stuck for 4 days. Had a great time. It was my girlfriend's cabin. (Many years ago.) |

Well.. I`m mostly busy elsewhere atm.. ;-) but just popping in to tell you this story.. Give your best try.. what ever you do. Ok? ;-) ..until another time - stay well. The Carpenter's House Author Unknown An elderly carpenter was ready to retire. He told his employer-contractor of his plans to leave the house building business and live a more leisurely life with his wife enjoying his extended family. He would miss the paycheck, but he needed to retire. They could get by. The contractor was sorry to see his good worker go and asked if he could build just one more house as a personal favor. The carpenter said yes, but in time it was easy to see that his heart was not in his work. He resorted to shoddy workmanship and used inferior materials. It was an unfortunate way to end his career. When the carpenter finished his work and the builder came to inspect the house, the contractor handed the front-door key to the carpenter. "This is your house," he said, "my gift to you." What a shock! What a shame! If he had only known he was building his own house, he would have done it all so differently. Now he had to live in the home he had built none too well. So it is with us. We build our lives in a distracted way, reacting rather than acting, willing to put up less than the best. At important points we do not give the job our best effort. Then with a shock we look at the situation we have created and find that we are now living in the house we have built. If we had realized that we would have done it differently. Think of yourself as the carpenter. Think about your house. Each day you hammer a nail, place a board, or erect a wall. Build wisely. It is the only life you will ever build. Even if you live it for only one day more, that day deserves to be lived graciously and with dignity. The plaque on the wall says, "Life is a do-it-yourself project." Your life tomorrow will be the result of your attitudes and the choices you make today. |

The Carpenter's House . . . How sad . . . It would seem to me that one would want to do your best at the end, even if it was not going to be your own house. People will say "This was the last house he ever built." Will the next sentence be "This was his best work ever." or will it be "Unfortunately this was not his best work."? |

Carpentry is my hobby. I’ve always built like whatever I was making was the last thing I would ever make. I set up a little carpenter’s guild and have taught about 20 people. One of my student said to me I bet God gets mad at you. I was shocked at the statement and asked why I would say such a thing. He said well only God can create perfection. You come so close that he probably hates the competition. |
