As most of you here know, I work for Pierce Manufacturing building fire trucks.
I thought some of you might find it interesting to know where some of the trucks I help build are destined.

So I will post here from time to time the places that have ordered some of the trucks I have my hands on.

If you hail from any of these localities, please stop by and say hello!

And please forgive any misspellings or other inaccuracies...I get this information from the build documents on the factory floor, not the sales documents.

And of course, I personally work on a small fraction of the trucks we build every day....

Meow.

Mark, I checked your company's website. It has a flash player with a picture of the new deliveries and city were the truck is going to. Might be better info than the construction floor.

Yes, they like to let the customer that we are proud of what we build, and are honored that they chose us to help them with their needs.

This thread was for me to show people how far and wide the trucks that I personally work on go when I am done with my bit....

LOL...quite possibly...
Not too many of them get through without giving me a little nick or cut somewhere along the line.
All in a day's work.

I think there is something deeply poetic about Mark working so hard to produce beautiful machines which save kittens.

Hi Mark
Do you send your trucks out to other countries, or is your company doing domestic orders only?

The majority of our production is sold here in the United States, but we have sold equipment to many other countries as well as our Navy, Army, and Marine bases around the world. We even produce some left-hand drive models on occasion for use in countries where they have a penchant for driving on 'the other side of the road'...LOL.

The Pierce website has a page linking to their International Dealers.

I wonder what you'd make of a 'Crash Tender' that was 6WD, 4WS was centre-drive, had a 6 speed pre-select split range box and a V12 'under the bonnet (a 'land' version of the R-R Merlin engine, mainly used in the Centurion tank and called the Meteor engine). Yes, I have driven one and it was awesome!

Sounds like a monster!!!

Our parent company Oshkosh Corporation (formerly known as Oshkosh Truck) builds a large variety of monster vehicles too...and along with Pierce, they own other companies that build refuse collection vehicles, cement mixers, and tow trucks.....and many others.
They also have a Defense Division that caters to military applications...big stuff!!

They even have a Wikipedia listing!

Hi Mark,

I am sure we have.......
We have such a large share of the market for fire trucks that there are few places in the country that we have not been close to.....

I am just listing those which I happen to work on each day.

I was working in the 'Checkout' department on OT today...putting the finishing touches on some of the San Diego trucks.
A few corrections, a few modifications that the customer requested.

I found out the other day....and this surprised even me.
There are over 600,000 options available when a customer orders a custom fire truck!!!

I don't think GM will offer that many on your next Buick...LOL.

I do a lot of work -fund raising and volunteer- in the city where I live. Our department needs a new snorkle. Do you get a discount? LOL!

I don't think that Pierce gets into the piece-parts business...

But hey.....try contacting our sales rep in your neck of the woods....

Glick Fire Equipment Company.......

Really.......

Contact them.....please. I'll bet they can do something to help you.

Tell 'em the kittyman sent you...LOL.
