I am using macnn boinc 4.06 client and 4.30 seti client. I got this strange upload error: 004-10-07 12:12:23 [SETI@home] Computation for result 01mr04ab.2990.15954.736090.29 finished 2004-10-07 12:12:23 [SETI@home] Starting result 04my04aa.16935.29666.517346.104_4 using setiathome version 4.30 2004-10-07 12:12:23 [SETI@home] Started upload of 01mr04ab.2990.15954.736090.29_4_0 2004-10-07 12:12:34 [SETI@home] Scheduler RPC to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi succeeded 2004-10-07 12:12:34 [SETI@home] Message from server: A new version (4.09) of the BOINC core client is available fro m this project's web site. 2004-10-07 12:12:34 [SETI@home] Started download of 14mr04aa.17223.5041.111068.229 2004-10-07 12:12:36 [SETI@home] Error on file upload: file_upload_handler: no filename; nbytes %f 2004-10-07 12:12:36 [SETI@home] Permanently failed upload of 01mr04ab.2990.15954.736090.29_4_0 2004-10-07 12:12:36 [SETI@home] Giving up on upload of 01mr04ab.2990.15954.736090.29_4_0: server rejected file (the client was downloading wus at the same time, that gives parasitic messages ). Clearly, the computations results are lost, there is no more result file XXX_0 with that name on the disk. I noticed that a second computer (same software) was uploading succesfully just at the same time (both computers have clocks synchronized on a nntp server, then the clocks are reliable): 2004-10-07 12:12:27 [SETI@home] Computation for result 04mr04aa.22434.9362.436050.39 finished 2004-10-07 12:12:27 [SETI@home] Starting result 04mr04aa.22434.9362.436050.11_2 using setiathome version 4.30 2004-10-07 12:12:27 [SETI@home] Started upload of 04mr04aa.22434.9362.436050.39_2_0 2004-10-07 12:13:21 [SETI@home] Finished upload of 04mr04aa.22434.9362.436050.39_2_0 2004-10-07 12:13:21 [SETI@home] Throughput 144693 bytes/sec Is there a problem with boinc when there are 2 uploads of the same account running concurently ? |

Haddock29: I had the same problem early this morning (I'm on EDT -04 time zone). I'm running BOINC clinet 4.09 and Seti 4.02 on Mac PowerBook G4. Here's my log: 2004-10-07 01:21:55 [SETI@home] Computation for result 06my04ab.9911.27858.554840.201 finished 2004-10-07 01:21:55 [SETI@home] Starting result 06my04aa.15945.25232.922144.46_4 using setiathome version 4.02 2004-10-07 01:21:55 [SETI@home] Started upload of 06my04ab.9911.27858.554840.201_4_0 2004-10-07 01:21:56 [SETI@home] Error on file upload: file_upload_handler: no filename; nbytes %f 2004-10-07 01:21:56 [SETI@home] Error on file upload: file_upload_handler: no filename; nbytes %f 2004-10-07 01:21:56 [SETI@home] Permanently failed upload of 06my04ab.9911.27858.554840.201_4_0 2004-10-07 01:21:56 [SETI@home] Giving up on upload of 06my04ab.9911.27858.554840.201_4_0: server rejected file I hope this isn't a generic problem that is going to happen to the next set of results also. |

Its a general problem, there is a thread on it in the message board. Better to stop seti, and wait some time. |
