Since the end of December I seem to be missing out on the credits I should be recieving. I have dropped from @150 to 16 in the last month. Is any one else having this problem. Do I have to make any changes to accomodate Astropulse work units? |

Since the end of December I seem to be missing out on the credits I should be recieving. I have dropped from @150 to 16 in the last month. Is any one else having this problem. Do I have to make any changes to accomodate Astropulse work units? You have to wait for your "Wingman" to also return the same Workunit and result, if their result does not match yours, it is sent out to another computer. The credit you are waiting on is called "Pending credit." In nearly all cases, you will receive the credit your computer claimed for. The Astropulse Workunit that is "pending" in your tasks list may take a while to grant credit, because I see your Wingman is crunching it on a old Pentium 3, which is below the threshold to be sent Astropulse workunits, but they have a knack for catching them anyway. If you want to speed up how fast you crunch Workunits, you can download and install an "Optimized Application" for your computer, this is meant for advanced participants and only install and run it if you know what you are doing, otherwise you may trash your Workunits you have in queue. There is no changes you need to make if you want to run Astropulse with the stock application. There are if you want to run an "Optimized Application". Have you also thought about updating your BOINC Manager fron 5.10.13 to something more current, like 6.2.19? Although, it is not a required upgrade. - Luke. - Luke. |

Thank you for the reply! I didn't know that I was partnered with someone else but that makes sense now that you say it. It explains the time delay in gettting credit, I've just never had it take this long. You said that you can see who I'm partnered with, is that something I can do or is it an admin type thing? What kind of "Optimized applications" are you talking about and what kinds of changes would I need to make? Thanks again and sorry to bombard you with questions. Scott |

Thank you for the reply! Anytime! Let me try give you the best answers I can. To see who you are crunching with (your "Wingman"), go into your account > click on the link "Tasks" > Click any Workunit (ID) you wish > and you will see 2 "Tasks" listed, one is the task on your computer, and one is the task on your "Wingmans" computer. Anyone can do it if they want to. On the topic of "Optimized Applications": You need to download a specific "executable file" that will work with your computer, and install it appropriately, to be short. PM me for more details and I can lead you through the installation process if you want, it could double your output! :-) - Luke. - Luke. |

Hi Scott, there are a few ways to get to see who you are teamed with. This changes with each Work Unit though. From here, the easiest way is to click on your name over on the left. That takes you to your account page. From there find Tasks and click on that. It will show you your WUs and as you click on them it will show you who else has that WU. It will also show you the details of the WUs you have finished. Edit: Oops, find computers on your account page then click view. Then click tasks. Looked at both your completed tasks Scott Lee, you appear to have result overflow on both. This may be a hardware problem or just bad WU's. Do you OC your PC or have you had problems with bad RAM lately? ![]() In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |
