Running winxp sp3 with intel dual core. Cuda devices seen but no cuda WU's (I have a 280 on a vista 64 box that is crunching like hell (no AP's) so seti pref's are ok) Installed Raistners and cuda WU's seen and then processed for 27 sec CPU time and then, as soon as completion reached 1% work stopped and WU was submitted for .01 credit. Reinstalled boinc - default installation. same problem. Upgraded graphics driver to 6.14.11.8120 with all the newest files... no cuda wu's seen. Installed Raistners - again I got the cuda WU's but CPU time stops at 27 sec with time to completion increasing. The WU has been running for about 3 hrs with 27 sec CPU time and over 11 hours remaining. Sure could use some advice. Thanks, The harder I works, the behinder I gets.... ![]() |

a link to your failed results would be nice Edit: If a WU goes stuck and and restart of BM doesnt seem to help, abort the file manual and restart BM again ... maybe its one of those mysterios WU's which wont be crunched by cuda ;) |

Edit: If a WU goes stuck and and restart of BM doesnt seem to help, abort the file manual and restart BM again ... maybe its one of those mysterios WU's which wont be crunched by cuda ;) Try restart of BM (and choose: quit sience apps too) Edit: check Windows Task Manager, if BM is off, no sience-tasks should be reported there |

I restarted BOINC before your last post and - after bad graphics lag - a good sign? it seems to be working. Oh well - it was as CPU usage was slowing incrfementing and progress got to .219% - then all seemed to stop. Time remaining is going up. How do I restart science apps. I have just exited BOINC and then restarted. Going to do so again. The harder I works, the behinder I gets.... ![]() |

I restarted BOINC before your last post and - after bad graphics lag - a good sign? it seems to be working. A good sign, yes, if u have no WU's that get complete in 30sec or below. If it is so you need to reboot your PC. How do I restart science apps. I have just exited BOINC and then restarted. If you quit BM (the icon -> lower right corner where the time is shown, right click->quit) the BM should normaly ask you what to do. |

Ok - rebooted computer and that one WU went back to a lower percentage of completion - it ran fine until it got back to .219% completion that seemed to stop .. time to completion increased - so i restarted BOINC and it happened again it halts all at :40 CPU time and .219% completion |

How do I link to the failed WU? I have gone thru several now and the last 2 were finished with 0% done. Beats me - but until I get this resp;ved I have suspended Seti as I don't want to submit invalid data |

After they are uploaded and reported (away from your Task list in BM) go to your Account, scroll bit down -> Tasks. There you should find them. Edit: found your Host and Task-list. Heavy ... :( But you wasnt using the most current version of Raisterms MB After you detached now, give 'em a new chance with stock app. Lets see if the errors are still there. |

After you detached now, give 'em a new chance with stock app. It should be donwloaded automatically by BM |

ok - stock app did not download cuda wu's downloaded and installed raistmer's V2 and applied it . WU's ran for 27 sec and then finished. But it gets down to this: Why won't seti download a cuda WU? |

Don't know. Could you provide a copy of the start up messages from BM and from the stock-app scheduling messages ? |

looks all normal. btw. if the server is telling you he has no jobs, then he have no jobs ^^ give 'em a bit time to generate results ... sometimes the server is disabled by the staff, thats the second option why you dont get tasks click me thats a startup with opt.-app, isnt it? |

If opt apt is raismer it is. No new tasks because I have stopped new ones because it is running them 27 seconds and then submitting as finishes. I just allowed new tasks, got threee and it blew the first, so I suspended the other two |

And what is the BM messaging if you use the stock app ? Edit: i did a look at this task. you are using Raistmer's built, but an older one. the lastest one should provide gfx memory informations (total mem, free mem) like this Rise priority modification by Raistmer based on rev380 of SETI@home sources |

good news - but where do i find it - or did I do something wrong? I downloaded V2 - extracted the files and placed then in the seti directory and here is the start up messages with stock app: 1/9/2009 5:45:55 PM||Starting BOINC client version 6.4.5 for windows_intelx86 1/9/2009 5:45:55 PM||log flags: task, file_xfer, sched_ops 1/9/2009 5:45:55 PM||Libraries: libcurl/7.19.0 OpenSSL/0.9.8i zlib/1.2.3 1/9/2009 5:45:55 PM||Data directory: C:\Program Files\BOINC\data 1/9/2009 5:45:55 PM||Running under account Louis 1/9/2009 5:45:55 PM||Processor: 2 GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6700 @ 2.66GHz [x86 Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 6] 1/9/2009 5:45:55 PM||Processor features: fpu tsc pae nx sse sse2 mmx 1/9/2009 5:45:55 PM||OS: Microsoft Windows XP: Professional x86 Editon, Service Pack 3, (05.01.2600.00) 1/9/2009 5:45:55 PM||Memory: 2.00 GB physical, 5.84 GB virtual 1/9/2009 5:45:55 PM||Disk: 279.46 GB total, 147.42 GB free 1/9/2009 5:45:55 PM||Local time is UTC -8 hours 1/9/2009 5:45:55 PM||Not using a proxy 1/9/2009 5:45:55 PM||CUDA devices found 1/9/2009 5:45:55 PM||Coprocessor: GeForce 8800 GTX (1) 1/9/2009 5:45:55 PM|Einstein@Home|URL: http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/; Computer ID: 1783887; location: home; project prefs: default 1/9/2009 5:45:55 PM|SETI@home|URL: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/; Computer ID: 3345687; location: (none); project prefs: default 1/9/2009 5:45:55 PM||General prefs: from SETI@home (last modified 08-Jan-2009 10:13:54) 1/9/2009 5:45:55 PM||Host location: none 1/9/2009 5:45:55 PM||General prefs: using your defaults 1/9/2009 5:45:55 PM||Preferences limit memory usage when active to 1023.23MB 1/9/2009 5:45:55 PM||Preferences limit memory usage when idle to 1841.82MB 1/9/2009 5:45:55 PM||Preferences limit disk usage to 2.00GB 1/9/2009 5:45:57 PM|Einstein@Home|Restarting task h1_0755.25_S5R4__297_S5R4a_2 using einstein_S5R4 version 610 1/9/2009 5:45:57 PM|SETI@home|Restarting task 01dc08ac.19772.6207.6.8.204_2 using setiathome_enhanced version 603 |
