Your problem would be better addressed if you could post it in the Number Crunching forum for discussion rather than in Technical News.....
Please repost it there, and somebody will try to help you.

To save anyone else looking it up, host 4080510 is a Core2 6400 running Windows XP. It's done work in the past (credit 45K), and has a small but non-trivial RAC (40) - but no tasks at the moment. Peter's account doesn't suggest he's participating in any other projects.

Peter, how long ago did you last get any SETI work?

What version of BOINC are you using? Have you updated recently to a new version?

I'm guessing you have Windows, try updating to 6.2.19 or at the very least 5.10.45

Not an good idea to guess in this game. Look it up (second post), or ask. But as it happens you were right this time, LOL.

I doubt it was the BOINC version, but no harm to try a displacement activity while we think.

A few days to a week ago not quite sure as I leave it to it. Just checked October 13th was the last work I got.

Peter, can you think of any changes to your setup round about the 13th? New hardware/software/internet connection, that sort of thing?

I assume (look, I'm doing it now!) that you're posting these messages from the machine you're having the problems with, so its internet connection is OK. When you get the new BOINC loaded, could you post the full startup sequence from the message log, please?

Edit - looking at the spikes on BOINCstats, that task on the 13th was a single Multibeam, and before that you did an Astropulse one. So should be no shartage of available work for you. Curiouser and curiouser.

Try a reboot and then a reinstall of 6.2.19. If that won't install then 5.10.45 would be an option.

43.90GB should be enough.

Work is a little thin on the ground just at the moment: I've just tried restocking two boxes - one got an allocation of short-running work, the other got the same 'no work sent' message as you.

It's difficult to tell with the server status page being broken, but I think the 'ready to send' queue is effectively empty, and you'll only get an allocation this evening if you happen to request some just as a new batch gets released. Hopefully, the supply will stabilise as we get to the end of the lab working day in Berkeley (midnight for us).

Probably the best bet for now with the server not sending work, no way to test anything done. With your pc not recieving work for a week though, it seems to be more than just what's going on with the servers. Hopefully it just works it self out with the time we have before things start rolling again.

Your right, I shouldn't guess, but my brwoser wasn't loading on the page for his pc so I let him know in my answer I wasn't sure, and some might think I was asking him his OS kinda sorta. Didn't see your post till after mine, my own fault for setting the messages to newest post first...didn't scroll down far enough to see your response until after the fact.

The new version will not install it says it is getting interrupted it has removed older version so I may do a system restore to get it back,

Install the exact version you have installed. It is quite possible the link to the MSI is broken.

Then try installing 6.2.19.

Your messages indicate your client is asking for work, but there just isn't any available from the project at the moment.

Just for my own info and curiosity, since it appears that he just downloaded the master file again

if that might possibly fix that, or are they unrelated.

The master file includes the URLs of the schedulers. (It is actually burried on the home page of the site - look at the source for the home page of a BOINC project sometime).

[edit]

The master file and the MSI (setup) file have nothing to do with each other. The first is project specific, and the second is generic to BOINC but specific to the host Platform.
