Is it just me, or have they made a couple of new tweaks to the forum coding??

Please fix the buttons in the PM section.....
When looking at your PMs, the 'Delete' and 'Reply' buttons are run right together, and one could easily delete a PM that one wishes to reply to..........

EDIT.....as are many other buttons.......
Such as the 'post to thread' and 'subscribe' at the top of each thread, and the 'reply' and 'quote' at the bottom of each post.........

Mark, this happened between five and six California time this afternoon. Don't like it either, grumble, grumble.

Per Eric, David Anderson has made changes in the forum looks in the past. Such as the blue squares around the quote portions. So hopefully, when he is made aware of this issue, it will be corrected.

Should he be the one that did it this time of course.

I think the last round of forum appearance changes were nice.......
But you would think that they could catch something this obvious before going live with it......oh well.....Seti is the Boinc test platform again....LOL.

Last I heard Dr Anderson was still in Europe making appearances and it was in the middle of the night. So I am being patient. It will get fixed soon enough.

Eric said, Dr Anderson was making changes. The quote thing happened just before I left for my visit to Berkeley. So it came up in conversation.

I find it very hard to read the buttons when they are not buttons but just words run together.

Why did they change the buttons? All the words are in a row instead of a small case...I think now it is more difficult to use them. It is certainly not an improvement!?!?
Strange !!

I think its just not finnished.
Maybe a missing semicolon in the colour script.
But i´m wondering why they allways implement such things before weekend.

With each crime and every kindness we birth our future.

I think you know my opinion about this not being tested first on the BOINC board, no need to repeat that. Besides, I remember well what happened the last time I allowed myself to express my opinion about this. So yes, you learn, so now I just perceive that they have mucked up the board again and then I let it go. I noticed the changed before I went to sleep, so it was implemented last night some time.

A lot of this thread is a good example of how not to motivate people to do what you want. The developer has already responded in detail to the ticket as you can see if you follow or refresh the link:

The white.css file on seti does not include the changes from changeset 16047. Only the code was deployed there - not the new layout for the buttons.

Thanks for the quick explanation. I'll post it to that thread and let's hope the seti@home forum configuration can be sorted out 'soon'!

"Ooops"

It is only human to make mistakes.

In this case there should have been no visible change at all (although the buttons in IE6/7 should now have a colour closer to that of other browsers).
At the same time pages should load slightly faster and use slightly less internet bandwidth.

Unfortunately someone missed the file that describes the new button look when copying over the changes from BOINC SVN. This will be fixed shortly, I'm sure.

[Edit:] As a little warning for the future, the underlying code for the buttons may be changed once more to allow for better display in text-mode-only browsers and screenreaders. Again this should not affect the visual display in most other browsers.

Hey again everyone, the entire update has now been copied to SETI@home - the buttons now even light up when you hover your mouse over them.
