The worse part was that most of the data they wanted was guess work and turned out wrong.

You mean like these:

Where are those WMDs? 'that pose an immediate threat to our country and to the world'

Where are those Muslims? 'who are trying to take away our freedoms and our way of life'

WHAT? someone has got to ask the 'tough questions'... ;)

The people who took away our freedoms was ourselves. We can try to blame other people, but we changed our constitution ... we didn't even have the guts to do it by amendment. That is what is sad. If this was a really big deal, if we "had" to take away our constitution our founders setup a way to do this and we failed to follow it. But to be fair, we really was considering a gay marrage amendment so I guess that makes up for it.
