Well Jeffrey, if you are really convinced of that, I think you could make a lot of money being a financial advisor. Financial advice: Sell everything you own while there are still people who can afford to buy it... ;) (Otherwise, you'll be stuck owning a lot of worthless toys, with no place to store them.) It may not be 1984 but George Orwell sure did see the future . . . |

Ya know, Jef....you remind me a lot of the Dodos in the movie Ice Age... " Doom on you....doom on you..." Air Cold, the blade stops; from silent stone, Death is preordained Calm Chaos Forums : Everyone Welcome |

" Doom on you....doom on you..." Naw, no doom, just a pesky reminder of the things they already know but would like to forget... ;) It may not be 1984 but George Orwell sure did see the future . . . |

As long as the price is allowed to fluctuate normally, i.e., without gov't intervention or "price fixing," the world will never run out of oil because if the price rises enough, people will cease to use oil and seek out replacement products that have become more economical. If, on the other hand, the gov't starts banning "gouging" or starts trying the ole tried and failed "windfall profits tax" the world could run out of oil quite quickly because there will be every incentive to hoard. Same eventual net effect as above, except with 1000x the pain and agony, nearly all of which will be imposed, by gov't force, upon those that can afford it the least. Cordially, Rush elrushbo2@theobviousgmail.com Remove the obvious... |
