Message 774034 - Posted: 26 Jun 2008, 23:05:49 UTC - in response to Message 774029.

a hundred grand a year (dollars I assume) isn't a massive fortune.

Which is rather amusing considering those same people think paying ten bucks an hour IS a massive fortune... ;)

Obviously you've failed to comprehend the concept of needing multiple employees to run a company.

10 employees comes to $100 an hour, buddy.

Funny, my 'father' made $50 an hour... The other 9 were replaced by computers... ;)

(And let's not forget, 50 bucks 50 years ago was worth a whole lot more than a tank of gas.)

It's called progress.

You have the right to earn a living, not the right to a specific job. Obviously your father had qualifications the others were lacking.

One would think at your age you could distinguish between how you think the world should be and how it really is....

Which is also quite amusing because the company paid for his entire education... ;)

(I'm still trying to figure out how he 'earned' a bachelors degree in less than 2 years of night school.)

HOW he acquired the education is irrelevant. What's important is that he had it when it mattered most.

(To this very day, I'm still trying to figure out how he 'earned' a bachelors degree in less than 2 years of night school)

Most higher education graduation requirements are based on completed hours, not physical time spent in a classroom. One could easily complete a 4 year degree in 2 years by doubling the number of hours they take per year...which is not as hard as it sounds considering the standard time frame for graduation. 30 hours per year, 15 hours a semester...that's 3 hours of class a day Monday-Friday...plus you have the option of earning additional credit during summer school.

Nice lecture dad... I especially liked the part about 'summer school'... and how you completely ignored 'night school'...

Although, I don't believe the company ever gave my 'father' summers off... Just paid vacations and full medical benefits... ;)

(Reality check............ Yep, I'm in tune, how about you.)

why "" marks

Because a 'father' has to actually be a Father to be called a Father... ;)
