I'm looking for something like BOINCView for OS X...does anybody know of such a beast? |

That my friend is why I steer clear of Macs.. Other than lack of software support from the 'home brew' programmers, Macs as far as I know are solid, dependable systems. Many of the gadget programs like BoincView simply dont exist for the Macs. Anyway.. good luck on your quest |

If you have the Intel mac you could probably run the BOINC View in one of the VM products. I have not tried it mostly because it did not seem to me that BOINC View was being maintained ... I could be wrong of course ... but ... I did not want to get "addicted" to BOINC View if it is dying ... |

I use BoincView, I have V 1.5 Beta 8 on one of my machines and 1.4.2 on another, and they both work great. Maybe it doesn't seem like it's being maintained since it works just fine as is? -Dave |

BOINCView + Parallels seems the way to go then. Time for a demo, I suppose. Thanks guys. Until I get around to that, at least the BOINC Manager supports connecting to other systems, though it's a little more inconvenient. |

If you have at least 1 Windows system, you could run BoincView on that 1 and it should monitor all the other BOINC clients. I also run BoincView and the author has not posted on his website for almost a year. http://www.boinc-wiki.info/index.php?title=BoincView http://boincview.amanheis.de/ Sir Arthur C Clarke 1917-2008 |

I just use VNC to check in on other machines, regardless of their OS. Dublin, California Team: SETI.USA |

I'm looking for something like BOINCView for OS X...does anybody know of such a beast? There isn't one, but I know somebody who is working on it :) (currently it doesn't support multiple computers; in fact it looks just like the default manager, just a bit more "native" on Mac) Contribute to the Wiki! |

I'm looking for something like BOINCView for OS X...does anybody know of such a beast? Now that is something to be happy about ... :) I would love to see something like that ... I could go "headless" on a number of systems ... VNC is Ok, but, for what I want to do most of the time is just to look at and "flush" results and keep an eye on progress for "hung" work ... and other odd conditions. That was why I liked BOINCView though after installing the latest version, well, it did not 'feel" like it used to, maybe I need to fiddle more with the settings to get it right ... But, I hate to go back to the small 20" screen ... and I cannot afford a KVM that will handle the 3-" monitor (yet) so I can't use it on the various systems I have ... |

Which version doesn't feel right? 1.5 beta 8 definitely has some quirks that I don't like. |

There isn't one, but I know somebody who is working on it :) For a start it will just be a "better Manager (Mac only)". Promised features include selecting multiple projects/tasks for aborting/suspending/etc, and sidebar buttons (abort/suspend/detach/etc) moved into a toolbar. Already finished features include sortable columns while still looking good (the official manager's Grid View looks ugly on all systems). The multi-machine features will probably come later...
