I have boinc 4.09 and S@H will stop processing at irregular intervals. It still shows to be running, but the CPU time shows that it is not. It did the same on V 4.05. I have Windows XP Pro with SP2. I disabled the firewall with no effect. Exiting from boinc and restarting works, but it will lock up in from 4 to 25 minituts. What gives? |

If your running another project and have a WU from that one, then Client will pause Seti to run that other WU for an hr or so, then pause that one and run Seti. If it's something else, then it could be settings, or something chewing up your free memory (viruses, bots, trojan scripts, other programs). |

I have a shared T1 connex and I don't have any other projects loaded, so no help. Don't know for sure about the others, but I keep Norton updated and scan regularly. The computer did actually finish 2 WU last night. Of course the servers were taken down so I didn't make any progress!!! Thnaks again. |

I have had this several times recently, and have noticed that while boinc-gui is a happiply running task, the setathome task isnt on the taskmanager list. Exit BOINC and relaunch and it continues happily. It may be coincidental, but this only appears to happen when my machine is getting a damned good hammering like playing Doom3 or transcoding video streams |

What kind of processor do you have? If it is a slower one then other programs or Windows itself might be using your processor since SETI is at Low Priority |

It's a 2.66Gh, so it ain't too slow. Regan, if you have the graphics display / screen saver on, then you will see this effect. Go to the work tab, and you probably will not. |
