I'm guessing you are refering to credit you earned before seti switched to using BOINC. If this is the case then you need to follow the instructions here to "attach" your classic account to your BOINC account. It won't translate as direct BOINC credits but will list how many seti classic work you did. Click on my username to see how this looks. A member of The Knights Who Say NI! Since he has a start date of '99, I'm assuming he has already attempted to attach his Classic account to his BOINC account. I'm going to guess that either he had multiple Classic accounts (and perhaps attached one that had no credits in it) or there is indeed an error here. |

Hey there Im fairly new to this but what is credit? Credit is a measure of your contribution to the project. The credit granted for all BOINC projects is approximately comparable. BOINC WIKI |

I didn't think I needed to start a new thread. I got to thinking today. I signed up with SETI in the Spring of '05 (I know I was running it in April). I ran my computer 24/7. I guess it was Aug '05 when I signed onto the BOINC. At the time, I thought I switched my credit over. My old account and my new account both have the same e-mail address. |

After looking into it, all the credit I have on that computer is for 5 days in November 05. Where did all the previous credit go? |

Simply creating a new account with the same email address will not link your old account to your new account. If your old account was a SETI Classic account, please go here and choose the last option "If you're already using BOINC". |

Well, now that I've read the other posts, I don't feel so bad. I also had to create a new account on a new computer, because I couldn't remember my user name, nor password from the old computer (which I no longer have). Therefore, all of my credits from the other account is who knows where. How can I recover my old credits? Anyone knows? Help! |

Therefore, all of my credits from the other account is who knows where. How can I recover my old credits? Anyone knows? Help! Your account you posted with is dated from 2000, is this not your original account? Are you referring to an old SETI account, or a different BOINC account? If not, I know of no way to find alternate accounts without a username. Note that if your other account is a BOINC account, there is no way to merge the two. If your old account was a SETI Classic account, they have already been added to your BOINC account (they are a separate stat). |

Therefore, all of my credits from the other account is who knows where. How can I recover my old credits? […] As OzzFan said, you won’t be able to “recover†the old account’s credit in the sense of adding it to your current account’s total. But if you still have any backups from the old computer that include its BOINC data folder, it’ll be possible to gain access to the old account without having to provide any of the forgotten details. Post back for instructions if you can find an “account_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml†file belonging to a host that was attached to the old account, or maybe just search the forum for “account keyâ€Â. |
