And at the same time have to listen or read what outsiders think of my country I'm not an outsider... However, I'm not living inside the bubble either... ;) It may not be 1984 but George Orwell sure did see the future . . . |

Vince, Good letter. @Jeffery, Based on your profile and your comments I've read else where I'd say you're living in some imaginary space inside your head. U.S.Air Force |

Looks like it is being narrowed down to Obama and McCain...... Obama for change or McCain for more of the same... ;) (I'm guessing it'll be a close 50/50 split on election day. A fixed system is a predictable system.) It may not be 1984 but George Orwell sure did see the future . . . |

Looks like it is being narrowed down to Obama and McCain...... I am seriously worried that if Obama gets elected, there will be some serious trouble to deal with....... "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

I am seriously worried that if Obama gets elected, there will be some serious trouble to deal with....... Like the repercussions from the boomers? Sorry, I just couldn't resist... I'm guessing that if it starts to look like Obama will win, a war with Iran is inevitable... Then again, there are already enough wars going on to support the election 'war card'... What I'm trying to say is that nothing will change, the current 'powers that be' will see to it... ;) (Despite how things look now, I still think Ms Hillary will prevail at the polls.) (Despite how things look now, I still think Ms Hillary will prevail at the polls.) I agree... insofar as I think Election Day will come down to Hillary versus McCain. |

Vince, Everybody live "in some imaginary space inside" their head. It's how we react to the 'outside world' that's important. And yes, there are certain posts (and threads) on the 'Political Board' I don't agree with, but I figure "So what?" Either I can say (post) something that will change someone's mind, or it ain't happening. "So what?" |

[quote] One of the problems with American media is that you, as a citizen, are never shown what the rest of the world thinks. Is this because you don't want to know or is it because those who control the media don't want you to know? What could possibly be wrong with using your computer to access newspapers from around the world? You might find some truths out there that have been hidden from you. Try reading the Letters to the Editor from London or Toronto. See what people elsewhere are concerned about. Those "outsiders" may have a perspective on events that could change your whole way of thinking. |

Noooooo...should Obama be elected........ I am seriously concerned that there will be several assassination attempts on him... The KKK and other supremecists just could not let this go by.......if elected, I seriously suspect he will be assassinated........ He will not live out a term of office..... Not my view.....just wondering what the rest of the country will do......... "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

The KKK and other supremecists It's a shame that in this day and age there are still those who can't see beyond the color of a mans skin... ;) (Odd that we've never had a 'war on supremacists'.) It may not be 1984 but George Orwell sure did see the future . . . |

Noooooo...should Obama be elected........ I suspect Obama knows the risk to his life. Regardless of his politics I have a great deal of respect for him for just standing up. If he is murdered for being black the shame will not be on the supremecists it will be on Americans in general for allowing it to happen. Courage to try is such a valuable thing. |
