the title says it all really, i couldnt seem to see a thread relevant for the last few hundred days. i have to keep checking every day because the completed work starts to pile up just when i think its behaving. im sure they will get there in the end, but i get horrible V's (average drops on x day because the work wasnt sent)appearing in my user average stats graph, which is what i use at a glance to check all my computers are doing their job. i have set my preferences to connect every .5 days but i shouldnt have to do that right? |

BOINC batches uploads and downloads to make things easier on the servers. Since SETI@Home handed out a bunch of short workunits recently (2hrs or less), this can give the appearance of a lot of work piling up and not being uploaded when finished. Rest assured, they will be uploaded, but it won't necessarily be every .5 day. The "connect to" preference only tells BOINC how often you're connected to the internet, but if you're always on, BOINC will keep trying when it needs to. |
