I'm just returning to SETI after some years. In the old days, part of the fun of this program was its screensaver. But I have the impression from scanning this thread that it's now difficult to get the SETI screensaver. (My computer, for what it's worth, has two log-in users, but neither log-in is password protected. I'm not getting any screensaver, SETI or BOINC.) This used to be easy; is there any easy way to accomplish it now? If not, will there be any revision to the software to restore this nice feature?

Hi Stephen,

Make sure when you install BOINC to install as Multiple User. This will ensure that all user accounts can access the screen saver.

Generally speaking, getting the screen saver working on most computers isn't nearly as difficult as most of these threads imply. Remember that these are the help forums, so you're going to find all the troubles here, but that doesn't mean every user has problems. Out of the 500,000 active BOINC participants, less than a fraction of a percent actually post here with problems.

Also, make sure your graphics drivers are up-to-date, same with DirectX. If you're still not getting the screen saver, make sure the BOINC screen saver is selected in your screen saver selection box in Windows.
