To get back on topic, since the latest posts where kinda highjacking the thread... :(

Well, in 2.4V we do not use the asm crap (wich is a wastless affort) to identify the cpu and get info on cpu frequency ....
....

So it might be possible that if the system is under high load the values for clock speed change a bit.

HTH

Hi Crunch3r, the cpuid changes look interesting plus the other adjustments made in the science app ( Variable Multi Support & Vista specific bits). I've been working with 2.4 source and haven't looked at these parts of the code at all, (mostly trying out compiler options, profiling + some different vectorisation of a few functions on older platforms for orientation & learning)

Is there any chance of obtaining some 2.4V (or newer if exists) source? or are these only minor alterations, (I Don't know about Vista issues apart from the MSVC service pack thing).

[Edit: With regard to Boinc Sources, I think I've seen you indicate before that you thought 5.xx.xx sources were broken, and from what I've found trying to build against the [older] api I'd have to agree. Is there a stable point in newer boinc sources to build an app against ? ]

Regards, Jason

Crunch3r's 2.4V and 2.4L sources are posted in the Message Boards area of his site, path:

Ahh Thanks Joe, Most of that was under construction when I last went there, someone's been busy adding to their site!
[Edit: Answering my own question
or are these only minor alterations
....> Yes, it's 2.3s9 source + minor adjustments. As is 2.4 ]
