http://calbe.dw70.de/boinc.html Be sure to stop BOINC and exit first, then simply uninstall the current version and install the new version to the same location. Restart BOINC and everything should work fine. Jim Some people plan their life out and look back at the wealth they've had. http://calbe.dw70.de/boinc.html From my experiences.. if I unistall BOINC, a folder and some files will stay at the HDD.. But, if I install Crunch3rs Version on a new OS without any other Version? So, I undersand it well, Crunch3rs Version is a 'stand alone' Version and don't need other (original) files to run? But after download from the .zip-file, there is now .exe-file for install. So how I could install? Or I didn't found? 'boincupdater.exe'-file?? EDIT: ..it's looking it's like the other (old) Versions, that this Version need a original Version of BOINC to run.. OR? I need .NET Framework for this Version too? ![]() |

... Which original BOINC Version you use? ..so I do nothing wrong, if I take the V5.10.28? How long is the time between upload and report? ..the old Version required .NET Framework, this Version too? ..at least 2.0 ? ![]() |

... If I remember correct, Josef W. Segur said, if you want to be sure that the upload and report of the result will be written well at the server you must have 0.002 days (~ 3 minutes) between that.. So I must wait to your experiences!! ;-) OR Crunch3r must manage this feature! :-) This Version is for 32 and 64 Bit OS? ![]() |

Sutaru, Sorry for my misleading information that I posted in my first reply. I don't use this version but I was under the impression that it was a complete package with it's own installer, etc. Now thanks to continuing to read this thread, I know better! @ Jim-R. No problem!! :-) BTW. If I use a 32 Bit OS, and have the 32 Bit client (V5.10.28).. I can use Crunch3rs files (V6.1.0.64) too? Because the 64 Bit (original) client don't run with 32 Bit OS, or?? ![]() |

@ Jim-R. If you have a 32 bit OS, you should definately run the 32 bit client. The 64 bit client may work but it is much more likely not to. Crunch3r even stated that if you do you do so at your own risk!. So by all means, if you run a 32 bit OS, even on a 64 bit computer, then run the 32 bit client. The 64 bit client may work but it is much more likely not to. 64bit clients will not work on 32bit OS's. |

The 64 bit client may work but it is much more likely not to. It's possible the posts I remember were talking about a 64 bit app with a 32 bit client. The 64 bit client may work but it is much more likely not to. Well of course the 6.1.0.64 will only run on 64 bit windows... that's why on this page --> http://calbe.dw70.de/boinc_red.html i made the comment "use on Windows XP64 and Vista 64" ... However.. Y'all wanna have the 32 bit client too ? ![]() Join BOINC United now! |

... When Keith noted the apparent relation between reporting quickly and validate errors in the SETI Beta forum, I suggested the 0.001 day setting because it is easy to remember and seemed long enough that any possible server delay would be over. It seemed to help, so the word spread to the community. As I recall, you were having validate errors here while using Crunch3r's 5.9.0 and reporting immediately, then switched to 5.10.13 and the 0.001 setting but still got validate errors. You were wondering if 0.001 might not be enough, so I suggested changing it to 0.002 just in case that might help. Of the reported cases where a validate error has been correlated with work fetch causing a report fairly quickly after an upload completed, I don't recall any longer than 22 seconds, but the number of times users have checked has been small relative to the number of validate errors. As an old engineering type I'd choose a larger safety factor than Crunch3r has, but the one minute is almost certainly enough. Joe |

If a tree falls in a forest and there is no one there to hear it, did it really fall? Of course it did - that's in the definition. But did it make a noise? F. ![]() |

If a tree falls in a forest and there is no one there to hear it, did it really fall? A petrified tree in a vacuum? No wonder it fell down! |
