Who has the oldest WU Pending Date? I have a September 12th, 2 days short of 2 months in pending state. I'm not holding my breath on my wingman reporting any time soon, he went AWOL.

[edit] The next oldest one I have is September 15th and my wingman has until January 8, 2008 to report in. Hopefully he/she doesn't need all that time, it would make that one just a week short of 4 months.

Here is my oldest pending I reported 13th August - 2 days after issue. It seems my original wingman bailed, a successor has processed but has reached 'Checked but no consensus', a fourth has been issued to a host that downloaded a cache in early october and doesn't appear to have been seen since! LOL, all good fun, gives us something to talk about :D

[Silly thing is, both successful processors found nothing in the signal anyway :D]

You have me beat by a month, lol, that's going to be a tough one for anyone to beat.

Yeah, your 4th guy is AWOL too, ouch.

I lose, my oldest is 25 Aug 2007 17:29:10 UTC. But, with any luck the system will issue a new wu on 10 Nov to another AWOL zombie. So I might win the "longest pending wu" award yet.

What pisses me off is that the boinc system seems to be insensitive to the turn around times on the clients. Many of the awol zombies affecting me have tens to hundreds of wu's given them despite no, or few, recent returns. So give a slow client, or worse, a zombie, who has an average turn around time of 28 days, a few dozen fresh wu's and you now have a few dozen upset active clients and a few dozen complaining threads like this one.

So someone should add some smarts to boinc to improve its latency performance.

I've made this sticky temporarily. It seems it might be a way for us to let the admins know exactly how long the pending credits are holding out for, etc.
You never know, they might not even be aware of some unusual circumstances, etc. which may need intervention.
So please read the pending times and only post if you have longer times.

I or any other mod can unsticky this if/when it becomes outdated/unruly/overly large.

I've only got one from 25 August 2007, but it looks as if it'll still be there next month, too. I've also got seven from September.

I have the following from August 2007

149022048 for 18 Aug 2007
146680038 for 11 Aug 2007
146603594 for 11 Aug 2007

Don't know why they hang around for so long.
In all 3 cases looks like the wingman has abandoned me.

That's a different problem - your wingmen have done their jobs, but the BOINC servers have been asleep on the job and not validated them. I started the Request to staff - weakness in BOINC? thread to report them.

I've added your new ones to the thread, and had a look at the old ones which are still there. It looks as if you might see some movement on the original deadline day - 22 November, for both of yours.

I agree with you, all of your wingmen are AWOL, unfortunately you're going to have to wait for the wingmens WU dates to expire and be re-issued which sadly means they will be 'pending' for quite a while longer. :(

Yea.....situation can't be helped. Looks like many times rookie crunchers just abandon the work and then it has to time out. I am waiting for the 3rd wingman to be assigned in all 3 cases.

Hold on just a second : If You're claiming issue date/time? that one of mine was 11 Aug 2007 14:28:24 UTC.... You're beating me by an hour ! (Or a day by report time)

My oldest WU is from August 19, returned three days later. After a ÒNo replyÓ it was resent on October 8; the host with that task has more than fifty others on board, many of which expire tomorrow, and hasnÕt been heard from in about three weeks. Of my 75 or so pending tasks I donÕt have any others with a WU ID <150000000 (or a result ID <600000000).

My oldest was sent to me on 13 Aug and returned on 14 Aug. It timed out on my wingman and was sent to another on 4 Oct, that machine has only 4 results, one returned, and the one I'm waiting for is the furthest out of the three remaining, so based on his turnaround time, it's going to be sent out again...

My next to oldest was sent to me on 17 Aug, returned by me on 18 Aug, the deadline on my wingman is 5 Dec, but based on what I see for that machine, it's going to be sent out again on or after that date.

Your pending is just about 3 times your RAC, indicating that on average the other host on your WUs is reporting its results 3 days later than you. Some of that is due to slow hosts, some due to hosts with huge work cache settings, some due to users who have quit without doing the work they accepted.

Yep, we got over 1000 credits due, the oldest being in September, the others are between then an now.
Funny that other projects don't seem to take this length of time to complete
