I was pointed to this thread for a method of running BOINC SETI on a bunch of networked PC's that lack operating systems:

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=38083

I cannot post in that thread to ask for pointers on optimizing the SETI Client and auto logging into my SETI account.

This seems like a great tool, I have 51 new boxes that I can put on SETI if we can figure out how to edit this BOINCPE to:

1. Auto-connect to SETI as the selected project.
2. Run an optimized chicken client.
3. Auto-Log-In to my seti account.

Help is greatly appreciated.

Check out ... shreiter.infofor boincpe configuration.

"The more advanced configuration explained on this page will enable you to run your BOINCpe machines without any user interaction at all (beyond pressing the power button of the computer). You will be able to operate your machines diskless (without hard disk drive) and headless (without mouse, keyboard and monitor attached)."

I have a diskless machine that boots from CD & runs boincpe. It does not run SETI WUs because it repeatedly error outs on SETI WU -- never quiet isolated the issue. So instead, it runs Einstein & uFluids which is fine by me.
