Were you always kitty people? I came to love kitties a bit later in life than some..

Hellooooooo. And meooowwwwwwwww.

I don't dislike doggins. Had dogs for pets when I was a young lad. When I grew up and started living on my own, I had no pets, and believe it or not, I hated cats. One of my GFs long ago had a couple of them, and I could not deal with the fact that they were so independant and you could not seem to teach them much.

When a dog jumps up on the dinner table, you scold him and give him a whack on the behind, and he likely doesn't do it again. Do the same to a cat, and 2 minutes later it is back up on the table giving you a look like 'what the heck was that all about?'...LOL.

Then about 12 years ago, another GF dumped 2 little kittens onto my waterbed while I was sleeping. They fell in love with me whilst I was asleep, and I fell in love with them when I woke up.

Long story short, one of them (Tigger) died at the young age of 5 years from genetic CRF after a 9 month battle to keep her alive. Her mother had another litter of 3 kittens and they are all very happy with their older stepsister.
I still miss Tigger, but love her stepsister Tigger II.

Here's my little one that died last year. She slipped away in my arms in bed while watching a fish aquararium screen saver. She kept me entertained for a good 14 years.

...

I didn't grow up with pets, so the first pet I got was a dog, a cocker spaniel, my ex-husband and I got right after our wedding, which was our surrogate baby. He didn't survive the divorce, he died very young, only 7 years old of heart failure.

Then back in 1988 I overheard two friends talk about some kittens born by a cat owned by one of them, and suddenly I heard them mention my name. When I then asked why they were talking about me, I was told that one of those kittens was my kitten! Well, I had mentioned some times that I would like to have a cat, but I certainly didn't plan to get one, but they started to tell me about this little fuzzball, blue and with a semi long coat (it turned out to be short but had this velvet structure to it), and I heard myself say yes, that sounded like my kitten.

So I started to look forward to have it, it was a very small baby, only two weeks old. Two weeks later I decided to have a sibling also, so when I was out to see them, 5 weeks old, I decided which one of the tabby ones I wanted together with the blue one. It turned out that the blue one, which I had decided should have a boy's name was a girl, and the tabby one, which I had decided to give a girl's name, was a boy. He later got a real boy's name but my girl, she just was her name so she never had it changed.

I found some old pics of Sos and Fred, I think they were about 1 year and a half or so, and both of them not as fat as they became later...

My beautiful Sos, her coat was fantastic, the colour was like silver in the sunshine and it was soft like velvet:

And Fred was a real tabby cat, a big cat. His paws were enormous compared to those little ballerina paws my little princess Bouncer Jupiter has

They were both big cats, I was told by the vet that they had grown so big because I had fed them with the best kitten food and they had got a lot of TLC.

And compared to the little princess I live with now, they were giants. Bouncer Jupiter is so small, I can still be amazed of how small her paws are and how short her little back is while petting her.
