Perhaps, but if we don't begin with tolerance, then we end up with...the world that we now have.

Tolerance may not equal respect, but without the one, you never get the other.

Start at the beginning, I would suggest. :)

edit btw: read almost any newspaper, tolerance is almost never a given.

To see the most disrespectful person I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with posting in this thread about respect is the absolute epitome of absurdity.

I first came to these forums and there were a few posters that I didn't show much respect to. I have, however, done my best to let those people know that I have more respect for them than I showed at first.

That being said, there is still one person that showed me absolutely NO respect in return for mine. So that person will continue to get none from me. Now or ever.

There ya go again. I didn't say to stop posting. Just not trying to make an argument of everything that others post. Your reaction to me is a perfect example.
I can only offer you the wisdom of years, my friend. Having a large chip on one's shoulders all the time can be a very heavy burden to carry through life.
