Ahem.

Point of order Gentlemen.

Through the Chair,

A Jammie Dodger is classed as a biscuit, not a cake.

Reply to the Point of Order, Mr. Chairman...

It has a topping, so it's a cake.

Would anyone eat something with topping, bare-handed, if it were a cookie? Just think of how messy your hands would be!

It's a cake!!! That's how the cookie crumbles!

Mr Speaker,

I crave the indulgence of the House whilst I acquaint my right honourable friend, with the contents of the web site of the manufacturers of the aforementioned delicacy.

http://www.burtonsfoods.com/

I defer to the honourable member for London South and give him leave to so do

Mr. Speaker,

I thank my Right Honourable friend for the opportunity to address the House on this most important issue.

I would advise the Honourable Member for London North, that the Burton Company, having become aware of its error, is presently revising its website to allow for correction on the Jammie Dodger cake issue.

I table the following document and invite the Honourable Member to review the said Burton Company's website.

Mr Deputy Speaker,

I am most grateful, and indebted, to my Right Honourable friend for drawing this matter to my attention, however I am able to inform the house, that the Select Committee on Bakery Produced Foodstuffs, will shortly be publishing a White Paper on the matter. I therefore propose Mr Speaker, with the agreement of the House, that further discussion on tis subject be deferred until that time.

I thank the Honourable Member from London North, and invite him to High Tea at Betty's of Harrogate. :)

OK, OK, they're biskwits. Crumbs for sure, what a palaver! I'll amend this thread title accordingly, and entreat you to withdraw your petitions and tabled motions.

This is a thread to discuss cakes.

I like cakes. Do you?

I saw this and couldn't resist, Madeira, with a nice cup of rosy.

But I am quite partial to a ginger nut, every now and then, as Mc.Adder will testify.

I know that beating egg whites poses no problem....I know from experience that a swift wrist action can make almost anything stand up stiffly.

He entreats?

Well, okay then...

One good treat deserves another!

Have a Sacher Tort (no pun intended).

Maybe Mrs Miggins likes a nibble on a torte, although I'm not sure if Mc.Adder would go for the foreign stuff ;)
