I have very stupidly (although with a good purpose)made several accounts for SETI - all from my home computer. Please remove all my accounts but the last one: e-mail dusamr@email.si. It was made today (30. 7. 2007). You can check all my accounts: dusa@amis.net, metabm@amis.net, dusadm@gmail.com and the last one dusamr@email.si- all these accounts are connected from one (= my personal) computer at my home. I'm very sorry for all kinds of inconveniences. Thank you and best regards, Dusanka

Accounts are never deleted. Scientist don't like to mess with the integrety of the database.

I suggest you edit out your email address since spam bot roam the net looking for good email address to spam. You have one hr from the time you post to edit it.

If accounts are never deleted, how can I get rid of them and what can I do? Do you think I should quit? Thank you and BR, Dusanka

Dusanka,

There is no way to 'get rid' of them, but you can log into them and their their information to nonsense so that it doesn't point back to you, if that's what you're concerned about.

Otherwise, I'd just pick the one you want to crunch with and go with it.

WHY WAS I SUSPENDED AND WHY I WON'T GET NEW TASKS? THANKS AND BR, DUSA

You will need to explain yourself better than this. What do you mean by 'suspended'?
Do you mean that the Seti in the Project tab is suspended?
Do you mean that the WU in the Tasks tab is suspended?
Do you mean that you are seeing seeing that the project is suspended in the Message tab log?
Do you mean the network connection is suspended?
Any of the above you could have accidentally done by clicking the Suspend button or possibly making a change in your preferences or Activity Menu.

We need some information in context to help.
Posting the message log might also help us understand what you're getting at.

"Suspended by user, won't get new tasks." is the information about my status when I click "Projects".

The above indicates that your have told Boinc to stop processing WU from the project and to not get any new work.
Solution: Go to Projects tab and highlight the project line (Seti@home).
Click on the 'Resume' button, it will change to 'Suspend'.
Click on the 'Allow new task' button, it will change to 'No new task'.

For future reference the buttons indicates the action taken when clicked not the current state. The Status column indicates blocking action you have done and/or project requested time delays. You may also want to look under the Activity menu to see that Boinc is not suspended there.

Please confirm if this helped.

Part 2.

And I still can't connect myself to the, for example "llh": The answer from Boinc Manager from "Attach to the project" is: "The URL you suppled is not that of a BOINC based account manager (I made a copy and paste from the llh answer to my e-mail). It also doesn't recognize (copy-paste url-s) "einstein" and "rosetta".

Do you have any suggestions - especially for the first part of my question?

Thank you again and BR, Dusa

THANK YOU, THANK YOU AND THANK YOU!!!
Best regards

This shows you went from a newer to older version. The newer version has some new things in the configuration files the old software does not understand, so you may get things like the http errors you are receiving.

It is recommended you go back to the 5.10.13. You can go back to the 5.8.16, which will understand most of it, and still should work. Going back to 5.4 and before it will not.

You tried to make SETI the BOINC Account Manager (BAM), which it can not do. You have to only attach to SETI, or find a BAM site you want to use. This is what is now causing your error.

Yes, I didn't know what to do, so I tried this too. But it said "http internal server error" before. I (still) don't know what to do. When I try to connect myself to SETI (again) it says that I'm already attached to the project, which is of course the truth.
I have a cable modem, my connections to internet and e-mail are OK.
"Boinc Manager-Options": "Http Proxy": Address "setiathome.berkeley.edu", Port "80" - this is all.
My windows firewall works, I took it off, but "http internal server error" was still there.
Any suggestion?
Real thanks and BR, Dusa

Clear all HTTP proxy information from the options. It should be left blank for normal internet connection.

I don't think it's causing all my troubles. I have just received an e-mail from admin@setiathome.berkeley.edu <admin@setiathome.SSL.berkeley.edu>, but I can't answer to it.Otherwise my connections to internet and e-mail are OK. I really don't play too much with my computer...BR, Dusa
