KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla., May 30 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Beginning
tomorrow, explorers everywhere can bid on once-in-a-lifetime adventures
with famed astronauts and vie for the chance to win sought-after space
artifacts as part of the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation's (ASF) Fifth
Annual Auction of Astronaut Experiences and Memorabilia at

More than 50 astronauts have donated artifacts, autographs, and
memorabilia to this auction. Some have even volunteered themselves,
offering tours, sporting events and vacations with winning bidders.

-- Dive in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico with Moonwalker Buzz Aldrin
-- Throw out the first pitch at a Houston Astros game with Apollo 13
Commander James Lovell
-- View a Space Shuttle launch with first shuttle mission pilot Bob

-- Host a private dinner party with Moonwalker Charlie Duke

directly to fund scholarships for exceptional science and engineering
students nationwide.

Apollo 15 Astronaut and ASF Chairman Al Worden, who is auctioning a chance
to join him for a Denver Broncos game. "What a fun way to raise money for

The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation is a non-profit organization
established in 1984 by the six surviving members of America's original
Mercury astronauts. Its goal is to aid the United States in retaining its
world leadership in science and technology by providing scholarships for
exceptional college students pursuing degrees in these fields. ASF funds
nineteen $10,000 scholarships annually and has awarded $2.5 million to 226
students nationwide.
