The Carl Donation of a Kegg Day!

I have decided to donate a Kegg (or whatever is aproprately sized and possible to find in the US nowadays) of Brewski (something beerily that tastes good) to the fantastic guys at Seti@home.
I hereby pledge to send the money for the Kegg in good time so that the crew can get their cabbages really wet on friday the first of June.

I hope that more people will follow this my quest to plaster the workoholics of Seti@home unconcious so they finaly get some well deserved sleep.

Now I need to know a couple of things.
1. Can I send a beer donation directly to the Seti-donation page earmarked for a brewski-kegg. Or do I need to send the money to a middle man living close by?
2. What is the price of a kegg of brewski sufficient in size to make a severe mental dent in the US?

I think it would be lovely if more people could pitch in and donate something else to get them a really good party! Steaks, vodka, balloons, other liquors, silly hats, fermented herring... Well I guess you all have ideas of what is needed for a good party!

This is not something that I recommend instead of donating money to Seti@homes regular costs.
This is something I want to do privately just to show my appreciation for the hard work of the team behind Seti@home.

Yours
Carl

Aren't you in Switzerland? [edit]OK, I looked and you're in Sweden, but it's closer than South Carolina[end edit] I know if I did, that I'd attend the Third Pan Galactic Boinc Workshop in Geneva on 5-6 Sept. Once there you might meet Dr. Anderson, Rom Walton, and many others in the european boinc community. I know Dr. Kim of Rosetta was there last year.

Anyway, once there, you could take pics for those of us not able to attend, and even present the Seti gift to Dr. Anderson and ask that he pass it on when he gets back.

I will see if I can get there, but remember that it is pretty far to Geneva:-)

But, meeting them in september will not brin my kegg to Matt, Jeff, Josh and the rest in time for next friday:-)

Yes, you can earmark donation money for a kegg for the guys. Others have done before, including myself (not for a kegg but for a round).

See these pics from a nice lunch donated to the guys, which they look like they enjoyed very much.

So just go ahead. :-)

I guess that I need to attach some kind of a message to the donation though.
Then I just need to know what a kegg of a size that will produce this effect costs;

I forgot to say that the date for the kegging is highly negotiable from the teams side:-)

If you donate through the official site, there's an edit box where you are being asked for any particular wish for the use of your donated money, you want it to go to.
