How can the following statement be reconciled with the link below it? Which is right? Surely we're not getting "Porkies" in the Technical News? May 9, 2007 Update: Our science database server died on Tuesday, May 1st. We haven't been able to create new workunits since then (though we are still accepting completed results). http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=2847369 Keith |

How can the following statement be reconciled with the link below it? Look more closely and you will see that computer got very lucky and received 40 re-sent WUs!. They are all _3 or _4 Result IDs. Sir Arthur C Clarke 1917-2008 |

Yes. Thanks everyone. I just tumbled to the re-issue possibility and came back to mention it here, only to find several others had already pointed it out. Sorry I doubted the Technical News -- Sorry -- Sorry I still think this long outage may well be a blessing in disguise. The problem stale & ghost results are being isolated. Keith |

Agreed, I hope they are going to take advantage of this opportunity to get rid of the Zombies which have built up since the last 'Night of the Living Dead' incident. That was quite awhile ago now if memory serves correctly. Alinator |
