Nope, lattice is a write-off as far as I'm concerned. Even the "News" item links, which should lead to more information about the project, are password protected. It seems they want to play in their own sandbox, and all by themselves. I hope they have fun. They are pre-alpha stage now. I don't know how the "rush" started, but heck ... We have 4 projects pretty much up sometimes already! Isn't it enough? :) SETI@Home cp.net Climate prediction LHC@Home Predictor@Home ... Lots of work to do there ... :) |

It's something of a matter of personal interest... > > They are pre-alpha stage now. I don't know how the "rush" started, but heck > ... There is no rush, but I would have liked to find out more about the project. With everything passworded, I can't even find out much about it. > > We have 4 projects pretty much up sometimes already! Isn't it enough? :) > > SETI@Home I'm processing S@h as fast as I can! > cp.net Climate prediction I have no interest in the Climate prediction project. Besides, everyone forgets we are only about 10,000 years out of the last "Ice Age." > LHC@Home LHC@home is still not accepting new accounts. They already have their 1000 beta users. I'm very interested. As soon as they open up, I'll join. > Predictor@Home ... I'm not particularly interested. I'm not really interested in Folding@Home. I don't think GIMPS is BOINC-based. Astropulse isn't ready yet, but I'm interested in it. Einstein@Home isn't ready yet, but I'm particularly interested in it, and on their mailing list. Is Nano@Home open? Are they even developing anything? They're still talking about "BOINC v2.07 software" on their web site, and have dates way back in 2002. As far as I concerned, there is only one project right now. (GRIN) But, I check the other about once per day. Stephen
Not only are we doing distributed processing, now we're doing distributed debugging.
Who'd a' thunk it? (GRIN)
|
