From the UK and fancy saving a few of your interesting e.mails for future generations to gawp at?

Throughout May 2007 the British Library is creating the first ever national archive of emails. The Email Britain book, recording a snapshot of British life by email, will be permanently archived for generations to come.

Email Britain

The Categories:

  • Blunders – embarrassing revelations, a case of mistaken identity etc
  • Life changers - job offers, marriage proposals etc
  • Complaints – public transport, poor customer service etc
  • Spam – the best (or worst) spam emails received
  • Love and romance – romantic emails which tugged at the heartstrings
  • Humorous emails –funny forwards, office banter, jokes etc
  • Everyday emails – exchanging recipes, organising nights out etc
  • News – good and bad news, births, illness, accidents etc
  • World around you – emails/views on topical events, news from around the world etc
  • Tales from abroad –long distance emails from far flung places

Interesting idea I guess. Will kind of be like those personal and revealing letters and tablets found in and around old Roman forts!!!

HeHe.. I was going to say 'no' just for the fun of it but I was beat from it.

We love our social invetigations here. Old diaries, love letters, post cards... I guess e.mails are too transitory to be gathered up later and hence this project.
