You are losing the point ... And you're missing the point. "Amazing" feats are done if they are 'easy' to do or if there is some (perceived) great need to do so. Given a free flight out there, transport, food and camping kit, I can single-handedly add another Nazcar line for you if you wish (and if noone else gets too upset). It is rather easy to do other than for the conditions there. (besides considering animal shapes) People figured out egyptian hieroglyphs after 2000 years of time break but strangely on these nazca information not many brains working effectively for decades. Basically ufo chasers have some motivation. But recently there was some big re-discovery made on those 13 mayan/incan towers that those were related to astronomy. So why certain cruel mayan society get into astronomy business besides their usual stone age business and why there are strange perfect grand scale drawings nearby is interesting clue. (perhaps there is some chance that they were not too cruel after all if we could ignore their periodic human sacrifice considering their mind had a room to develop astronomy.) There are plenty of periods of cruelty and sacrifice from the old east and europe to validate this. ie: The Inquisition, The Crusades, Tortures worse than death, The Conquest of the new world, etc...
