Sorry the last post didn't contain all my thread, for some reason it didn't incude half of my post. Anyway I rounded off by saying, the old Seti was far easier to use.The only way I can get new work is to upload the work and then detach from the project and then re-attach, only then will I be sent new work. If I try to get a WU by the Update button it just keeps saying deferred and no request for new work.. All my firewalls have been configered to use Seti. Any idea's?

The non-request means that BOINC believes it has enough work on hand. Since in your previous thread you indicated that you spend some time disconnected from the internet, could you tell us what your "Connect every X" setting is? It can be found at this web site -> your account -> global settings.

Once again thanks for the advise. I realise what must have been happening as I had my 'connect to x' set to 0. I've now changed this to 2. What I really want to do is just connect when all WU have been completed (did I mention I'm still on a dial-up connection?). Obviously with my setting at 0 Boinc was trying to connect once a WU had been completed. Do you think this will clear up my probs? I should imagine that once I have this thing configered correctly I'll be good to go but at the mo' it can be very frustrating.

With the setting at 2, it will try to keep the work available at 2 days worth. However, due to some possibly short deadlines, this may not always happen (if a project is already in deadline trouble, no work will be requested for that project until it is out of deadline trouble.) You might want to consider one day of queue if you can connect once per day.
