There's a number of BOINC projects that are for windows computers only. Nano-Hive@Home proteins@home Spinhenge@home BURP PrimeGrid uFluids RieselSieve I have been watching for linux versions for quite some time and it's obvious there's little chance of other platforms being added. It's very disappointing. Nothing travels faster than the speed of light with the possible exception of bad news, which obeys its own special laws. Douglas Adams (1952 - 2001) |

Nano-Hive is open source. Typically one must have an RAC greater than the pre-determined minimum for a project before one is allowed to post in a project's forum. This fact makes it a little difficult for a linux only user to ask about a linux app for projects that only support windows. There's a number of BOINC projects that are for windows computers only. LHC@Home is a Windows and Linux project only and it's not open source. Orbit@Home is a Linux project only, while there was WU's to get. "I'm trying to maintain a shred of dignity in this world." - Me |

LHC@Home is a Windows and Linux project only and it's not open source. Some people were offended by the fact that the decision was made to develop orbit on linux first, then add windows. They overlooked the fact that a significant number of projects developed for windows and haven't released versions for linux or other platforms. I joined orbit when the original website was still in use, and again when the changeover to the standard boinc type website occurred. I have "Account number 6" at orbit but unfortunately I had the project suspended when the few work units were produced and distributed. It's a project I strongly believe deserves my computer's time and hope to see running one day.
