Climate Prediction is up and running OK - SETI and CP share the load 50/50. Any ideas? |

OK, so I managed to force a SETI tasks download by suspending Climate Prediction. I guess BOINC knows what its doing but I'm not sure I know! Now resumed Climate Prediction and SETI is continuing - at least for the moment. |

Sounds like a debt problem... it needs to repay some time back to CP. Once BOINC straightens out, it should download SETI as needed. |

CP's tasks are so much bigger than SETI's - is that part of the problem? |

06/09/2006 21:47:29||Using earliest-deadline-first scheduling because computer is overcommitted. 06/09/2006 21:47:29||Suspending work fetch because computer is overcommitted. These tell you why you are not getting work. It thinks CPDN will not finish in time. Not a debt problem. My movie https://vimeo.com/manage/videos/502242 |

Well CP must be over optimisitc when forecasting completion then? |

Well CP must be over optimisitc when forecasting completion then? I get this problem every time (CPDN + seti or WCG). When the last WU is getting close to ending, Boinc resumes work fetch again and grabs a few more Setu WU's. Then on the next startup, it tells me it's overcommitted again and CP goes to sleep for another few weeks while it eats up all the new Set WU's. Surely Boinc should not fetch so much work from Seti/WCG/whoever if it is going to make it overcommitted straight away? |

Surely Boinc should not fetch so much work from Seti/WCG/whoever if it is going to make it overcommitted straight away? It doesn't know how long a Work Unit will take till it downloads it. Also, what size is your cache set to? With more than one project 0.1 is a good setting. Anything larger may result in possible deadline problems & overcommited messages. Grant Darwin NT |
