Methinks you are not playing fair. You have to be smoking crack, to make statements like this! |

statements like this! Care to explain to me what this object was: My UFO Sighting None of my experiences have been very 'dramatic', but they were definitely 'real' and they were definitely 'unexplainable'... The floor is open... Somebody? Anybody? ;) ![]() |

So then you're ignoring me once again when I call you, jeffrey? Why do you drag up other topics in a board about Carl Sagan? Go talk about your UFO where it belongs. Go to that link for my answer on it where it belongs.
Here is your answer, repeated: READ 'THE DEMON HAUNTED WORLD' YET, JEFFREY??? YOU'LL FIND THE DISPROOF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR IN THERE... The whole book is your proof. Pick it up and actually read through it. Then come back here, and present whatever arguments you can 'think' up. (modified since previous version deleted by moderator) Never Forget a Friend. statements like this! Sounds a lot like what I saw flying overhead, which I believe was in 1995; only I was expecting it, having heard about the Mir/space-shuttle docking. The 2 craft together made for a very large and bright object which passed across the sky surprisingly quickly. It was an amazing sight. |

the Mir/space-shuttle docking. Are u serious... You really want me to believe that the space shuttle or the mir space station or both were moving at those speeds out in space especially during a docking procedure... Come on now, please be rational... ;) ![]() |

the Mir/space-shuttle docking. Jeffrey the space shuttle orbits the Earth at 17500 mph. Also they could be travelling at 100,000 mph yet if they are moving at the same speed in relation to each other it would be just as easy to dock as if they were going 100mph. What I just said could make no sense at all, as I just woke up after being awake for 22 hours straight. |

What I just said could make no sense at all I decided to do a little research with the Mir/space-shuttle info you provided... One of the following events could have very well been what we were observing: On February 23, 1997, a series of dramatic accidents started with an oxygen- generating canister bursting into flames and nearly forcing the crew to evacuate. On June 25, 1997, a cargo ship rammed the station during a practice manual docking, puncturing a laboratory module, but the crew quickly sealed it off, saving the station. I'm still a little skeptical, but these are very plausible explanations... I just wish I could remember the exact date or even the direction of motion to clear all doubt... ;) ![]() |

Some addtional info here It was travelling in a S to N-ish direction when I saw it, btw. Also, because of the little ;), I assume you were kidding when you questioned my seriousness. |

because of the little ;), I assume you were kidding when you questioned my seriousness. Naw, much to my shame, I was being serious... I ruled out the Mir because I hadn't known that it moved faster than the other satellites out there... And I ruled out the space-shuttle because I didn't think, and still don't think, that it would illuminate as brightly as the object we saw... While I'm not sure of the direction, I do know for sure that it was either east to west or west to east... I just can't remember if we were heading out or returning home... As far as the ' ;) ' goes... That's kinda my trademark... I try to leave it a mystery as to wether or not I'm being sarcastic... Keeps everyone on their toes... ;) ![]() |

I wrote something, but then decided to not say anything. Why don't they add a delete button? |

Yes, for the first time you actually sort of listened and used your mental faculties when somebody disproved one of your beliefs. You may yet become a scientist after all. It's what Carl Sagan tried to promote and share with everyone. So, once again, how would a scientist, a man concerned only with what is verifiably true, make any statement without proof to back it up? Never Forget a Friend. Or an Enemy. |
