I am frustrated along with others to see SETI@home sitting idle all day long. Seems the BOINC client hasn't worked hardly at all, save for an isolated day or two at most, in at least a month. But... I am sticking with it because in the end, who cares if it runs or not? This isn't a contest, and we're not getting paid by the work unit. So I just leave the client running 24/7 waiting for the problems to get worked out. However, one thing about the changeover DOES bug me. The fun part of SETI@home (the previous client I mean) was the graphics. But when I switched over to BOINC, I was terribly disappointed to not see any graphics - just a little yellow progress bar next to each of the work units. Boo... Boring!! I figured they took the graphics out of the program, and forgot about it. But this morning I was reading this site (to see when the problems might be resolved), and I came across a mention of BOINC graphics for SETI@home! So I went looking thru the client's menus, but still don't see anything regarding graphics. Can someone fill me in on this? Thanks! |
