I'm very saddened by what is happening here. The only credit that should really matter is being given CREDIT if and when a signal is determined to be a call from ET. |

"Greetings Earthling!" "Who may I ask is calling?" "This is E.T." "Oh... I'm sorry. We can't talk to you right now." "Why is that?" "We're on strike. Please try back again next week." <click> |

Credits are incredibly important. Without credits, people would have to find something meaningful to get mad about. |

"Greetings Earthling!" "What? Is this really ET?" "Yeah it is!" "You got any credits?" "Huh?" "How many credits is this WU worth?" "What is this--how do you say--'crebit'??" "No credits? That's it. I'm going on STRIKE!" |

Hi 2046, there were some charts in the old seti that showed the most promising signal candidates, and who found them. I guess it would be possible to convert this kind of info into a ranking. Regards Hans |

...there were some charts in the old seti that showed the most promising signal candidates, and who found them. This is the page that Hans is referring to. I don't believe it has been updated for some time, unless there is another page I am unaware of: http://seticlassic.ssl.berkeley.edu/candidates.html Dig |

I've said it to my teammates and I'll say it here... I honestly do not care about the science. I'm in it strictly for the competition. If we find E.T. in the meantime...cool. So, do I care about credits? Yes. Do I care if you care? No. Life goes on and if you don't care about the credits and are doing it strictly for the science, why even post? -dae6 |

Oh my, none of my 24,234 classic WUs contained anything useful. Now I'm saddened... Regards Hans P.S: Even Hans Wurst found something :o) |

Oh my, none of my 24,234 classic WUs contained anything useful... Now I'm saddened... Well, there's a 'digger' on the list with 2 signal candidates but there's no way of knowing if it's me or not. Although I've used this nick since 1999 and the badge matches, nicknames aren't exclusive and I'm sure there have been many 'diggers' who have crunched for the project. If it's all the same though, I'll just pretend they're mine :) Dig |

dae6 looking at my totals I wouldn't say I'm in it for the credits....so dae if the credits went away, would you go away or would you develop a like for the science and stay? |

dae6 I would like to think my initial post speaks for itself. Yes, I would move on to a different project without even considering it. What's the point in being apart of a team when there's nothing (credits) to compete for? -dae6 |

dae I understand your reasoning and competitive nature, and appreciate your honesty. No malice intended. Peace.... Jaco.... |

You know, I think the BOINC team did a really good job with the latest version of the client. It no longer lists these immaginary unit of measure as so called "Credits". It is now, Work done, and Avg. work done. My shoutout to the team Great job... just a bit too late. you have the masses hooked on your "Credits" that they cant use anwhere. P.S. if anyone wants to buy my account off of me I have about 30k credits available for about 20$..... j/k |
