it seems to me that moderation would also include the ability to lock someones account. That way the offender pays, not the community. We were enjoying that thread. Someone comes in and trashes it, the whohle thing goes away...

It is WAY more fair to lock accounts and delete the offending posts.

On forums I moderate, I lock accounts of those doing things like that. Lock it for a week or so, they get the point fast.

We Cant Only Admin can and that's up to them...I would not like it one bit to see people banned. Look what happened to NA last weekend.
Now he's gone will he come back Maybe....I hope some day he will.

Back when this forum was fun before the Great Troll attack, This place was so great It got me hooked. the comradely and the discussions were so entertaining.

No One came here to Blow off steam by disruption, Flaming and personal attacks.
The only attacks were in jest and most new it.

the only time we had a P.O. person is when we had a personality teat and he got paranoid and left.

The title comes up were as you can chage it.

Do not reply to someone else.

How about your replying to me, Captain? What did I do to deserve your deleting my threads?

I asked you to not use the word Shunned anymore.
To constantly see that Title well its just wrong
we all have been shunned by some one we are just one big happy family...
Thanks lets not flame this ok?

So you deleted my original Shunned Club thread after it was up an running for 3 weeks, and right after we got flooded, because you didn't like the word "Shunned" in its title?

I don't believe you.

No it is negative why not start fresh and be positive. Besides your Chess club was so much more.

Why did I have to start fresh at all? Why did you take down the orignal thread? That's what I'm asking...and I think you know that.

Put my original thread back up, and I'll change the title to "Beethoven's". Fair enough?

Well I wasn't here when it happend, But when I spamming attack happens
It is much easier to delete the thread. Needless to say we all can contribute
to the forums but why not make it a positive instaed of a negative.

How about "Beethovens Club - For Those Who Just Want to B"

I realized the dead-end roads I ended up taking weren't always my fault. Many thanks to all that have helped in this - and you know who you are.

It's "easier" to delete a thread of 937 legitimate posts, where posters conducted themselves properly, because one flooder has turned up to cause trouble?

What kind of a "reason" is that??!!

I don't want to start a new thread. I've got the original saved and I want it back up!

I dont have a problem with that Beets but what will it look like?
You can try. I think that 700 of those post could stay off. Mainly the flames and such. especially the personal attcks.

Just my thoughts

Well, seeing that you agree, let me put it up as is, and you and/or Ageless can delete the handful of flood posts at the end...and, have a look: there really weren't that many flames in that whole thread. It was fairly peaceful for the most part.

I can go ahead then? I'm asking first here.

Thank you for your kind words. I'm saddened by your decision, but I respect your desires and wish you well. Your sharp wit and keen insight will be a plus to wherever you decide to take them. Goodbye, my friend and take care.

Before you go, Jennifer, won't you have a drink with me (on the house, of course) in the new Beethoven's II?

Beethoven's II

Oh, and the old thread is up as well: closed and as an archive, but you can find all our old posts there.

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=30930

Come have a drink with me.

XOXOX
