I see you're running the 4.25 boinc client. Try downloading the 5.2.13 version and see if you encounter the same problems.

I've got the exact same problem with an iMac running OX 10.3.5 and I am running BOINC 5.2.13. My results page for that machine.

I took the liberty of looking at Area51's individual results, and he's getting the same error message about "Undefined symbols" that I am:

<core_client_version>5.2.13</core_client_version>
<message>process got signal 5
</message>
<stderr_txt>
dyld: setiathome-5.12.powerpc-apple-darwin Undefined symbols:
setiathome-5.12.powerpc-apple-darwin undefined reference to _atanf expected to be defined in /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib
setiathome-5.12.powerpc-apple-darwin undefined reference to _cosf expected to be defined in /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib
setiathome-5.12.powerpc-apple-darwin undefined reference to _sinf expected to be defined in /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib

</stderr_txt>

I'm not a programmer, so that's beyond my ability to decipher.

This confirms my suspicion that there's been a change in the math.h headers recently... Could it be that the header changed for Mac/x86 development?

Just tossing out an idea... back to final projects for me...

Neo

There is a thread I stared for Mac issues in the Beta, if you have knowledge or can post other specfics that would be nice...

Message 303096 - Posted: 12 May 2006, 1:03:26 UTC - in response to Message 303067.

The problem was that the application was compiled on a machine running 10.3.9.

Charlie Fenton has fixed this and the fixed app (5.13) and the OS X/Intel app should be going out tomorrow.

I noticed, but I don't have enough concrete info to make a good contribution to it just yet.

Thanks for this Eric; I'll wait 'till the end of w/e and try again. BTW, thanks to all of those who posted with constructive suggestions - I'll treat the non-constructive suggestion with the contempt it deserves.

...just a quick line to say that 5.13 is now running fine under OSX 10.3.8 on my m/c. I had a couple of download hickups so I didn't want to post prematurely. Thanks for this.
