I'm having this problem... It has happened twice. My workunits will just disappear from the work list and won't let me dl any more because it thinks I still have them (10 days worth). Will reset project fix this? WILL RESET PROJECT RESET MY CREDIT?! |

Reset project will clear your project on your computer, the only thing you will lose is any wu you have and will assign a new cpu id. The credit you have will remain. You should be able to get work. mikey on the project tab there is a button to reset project without detaching. Fred BOINC Alpha, BOINC Beta, LHC Alpha, Einstein Alpha |

What do you mean by resetting the project? Do you mean detaching and then reattching? If so then no you won't lose anything except any credits for any units not returned or that are still on your machine. If you have no units on your machine then feel free to dettach and the reattach. Also 10 is a very long time to have the cache set for you might try lowering it to around 4 unless you are on dial-up. Part of your problem is that you have 2 computers on your account and the first one "http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=2309342" is either not returning units on time or returning bad ones, because you are down to one unit per day on that machine. Normally a person is allowed to get upto 100 units per day per cpu, upto a max of 4 cpus per machine. The machine above is down to 1 unit per day! It will only go back up to 100 as you return units on time AND they are validated as good by the validator. For every unit you return as invalid or over the 2 week time limit you get dropped down below the 100 per day number. |

I use 10 more in case BOINC goes down for a few days. I can't count the number of times SETIDriver saved my ass ;) |

Is there another reason why I should lower my cache? Maybe it's not what I'm thinking I had to abort a lot at once because I imaged my hard drive to the new drive and it would have returned the same results how do i get the Maximum daily WU quota back up? |

Is there another reason why I should lower my cache? Maybe it's not what I'm thinkingYou might think about reducing your cache to 5-7 days. As you can see, if there's a delay or problem in returning work, you can easily go past the deadline, and lose credit for the work you've done. how do i get the Maximum daily WU quota back up?Start returning good work. For every successful result returned, your quota will double. It goes back up a lot faster than it dropped. MJ |

how do i get the Maximum daily WU quota back up? Your maximum daily quota on one of your machines is 1/day because it returns invalid results. This usually means bad hardware. Unlike Classic, your work has to be valid -- it's compared against at least two other machines -- or you don't get credit, and eventually, you are limited to one WU per day. Classic took any old garbage, without regard to science. |
