I did not try it yet, I'm looking for some modem working under WinXP 64 for ES. I have Microsom one but it is a software modem for which deasn't exist any driver for 64. So I'm waiting for "generic" modem to try 64 S@H/B client.

I just asked guy from Microsoft and he told that Visual Studio 2005 beta doesn't have 64 bit option implemented and no compiler exists from Windows 64. But then I asked him how everybody is compiling 64bit applications for Windows 64. He answered just a crap, I have to take look somewhere elso, not to Miscrosoft ;o)))

I'm not sure your guy at microsoft knows what he is talking about - I am using Visual Studio 2004 enterprise Architect and I CAN compile code for AMD x86-64 and IA-64 for those whats-er-name thingies - thats it - Itaniums...

Maybe this article will help:

Cheers,

SwissNic.

P.s. I will post a link to a BOINC-64 Website shortly... ;o))))

Thanks a lot for reply. I got info from planetamd64.com how to setup 64bit enviroment, I have everything with and go to try it today evening.
Guy from Microsoft story: I sent him link how to setup 64 bit enviroment and he replied that why then I asked that in email conference for .NET developing. Fool. :o)))))
I replied that I need VS2003NET for it which is at least a little bit about .NET.
Important is that it works and thank you for another info and please post link to BOINC 64bit, I'm very interesting in it. I'm a developer and 64 bits are something really new for me and what is better, I have hardware for it. ;o)))

Does This mean, We AMD 64 users will be able to process more information? Get more done in a shorter amount of time?

Thanks

remember way back in the Stone Age when folks had modems on serial (RS-232)ports? I have never seen a "winmodem" that functions under a 64bit OS, and I doubt I ever will. An ISA modem might work, but where will you find a motherboard that supports both ISA and a 64bit CPU? I have a PCI "hardware" modem - not Winmodem - that I no longer use. If interested email ok@austin.rr.com - maybe it is possible to ship from Us to Slovakia

it is illogical to think that a WinTel droid would have anything constructive to offer in the realm of an AMD-related question. I's all about the Itaniums over there....

Thank you very much but I have PCI hardware modem. It doesn't work either. Tomorow I will have external serial modem, I will put it on COM1 and see ... but what is more important: In 2 weeks I will have connection via cable modem, only 256dwn/64up kbits (from cable TV company) but cheap flatrate. And cable mode is connected through ethernet card on which I have drivers under Win XP 64 bit.
