When my computer goes to screensaver it shows bouncing boinc ball and says boinc is not working. when I go back to the new manager it is not responding. How do I get this all to work like it used to. I just downloaded and started using this new manager and changed my setting but the seti screen will not come up as the screen saver anymore.

You appear to have successfully activated you account but your computer does not appear to be attached to the Seti project.
The first thing you need to do is remove the Seti-Classic.
The Boinc Manager is just a shell program to manage several projects so the next you need is to attach to the Seti project using the information in the confirmation e-mail you got when you created your account. You may wish to read the BOINC miniFAQ and Overview of the "Attach" Process . For most questions refer to the unofficial guide BOINC Wiki. It is the most comprehensive source of information on all things BOINC.
If you need further assistance, feel free to post any follow up questions.

Be aware that Seti is in the process of recovering from the aftermath of a power failure which caused some problems with the servers. It may be another day before things are back to normal, since there is a major backlog of users pounding the servers for work. For the moment WU are being gobbled up as fast as they are created.

Ok I have tried and tried to follow the directions of this "manager" but when I try anything,it tell me its not connected to a boinc client and to go chose computer. I do that (again and again) but still no joy. I have downloaded the client(manager) again to repair it but still no joy. Then it has continually tried to connect but, you guessed it, no joy. I have tried putting "localhost" in the choose computer box...then various website addys like for seti. None work and nothing connects. This client is either flawed or too complicated for the adverage user to work. Its like a doorstop in my computer taking up space. until I can get it to work..the old version of boinc at least worked. Do I need to re-download old boinc"seti" to get this to work? HELP!!!!!!

No, you shouldn't need to redownload or reinstall. Try this: Check the password in the file gui_rpc_auth.cfg by closing BOINC and opening the file in a text editor. To make your life easier, remove the password and hit Enter, then save it. Restart BOINC manager. If it doesn't connect on its own, in the menu bar go to File > Select Computer, use localhost as the host name and leave the password field blank. Click OK.

What's your system configuration? Firewall? Zone Alarm is known to block localhost communication.
