There appears to be a bug if you are using a Proxy that requires authentication. I as well have had this issue.

I am seeing this to. We are running a squid proxy server ver 2.5.STABLE4
Also when it crashes, which is right after you start the program, it leaves the seti proccess running. You have to stop it with task manager.

Win XP Pro SP1
Proxy with authentification (Proxy requesting NTLM protokoll)

BOINC crach imidiatly after restart, opening another Seti at home process and
leave it open. This error accoured after several hours of work. I was able to get workunits, and also to upload back the results.

I have this same problem. The only thing is that if I tried to open another bonic, it too would crash. I couldn't even change the proxy settings within the application. You can manually edit this option by going into the client_state.xml file in the Bonic directory. Remove everything between the tags and this will allow the app to remain open but you loose your proxy settings.

I edited the client_state.xml file and removed the proxy section as suggested. Boinc tried to connect again right after I opened it then the proxy section was repopulated which caused another crashed.

Man this sucks! I can't use BOINC at all!
