Hi all, I might be overlooking something obvious here but here goes... I've been running BOINC for about a week with predictor and SETI@home (set 50/50). At first I got several WUs from SETI but with all the recent outages I've just been getting predictor WUs for 4 or 5 days now. It seems that whenever BOINC contacts the SETI server my cache is already full of predictor WUs and it doesn't even request any work - at least that's my interpretation of the messages. True/False?? The only time I've seen BOINC request work from SETI was when I changed my cache settings then updated SETI immediately.... Of course I got a "no work available" and BOINC then downloaded a pile of new predictor WUs. So is there any way for me to encourage the download of SETI WUs when they are occasionally available?? Thanks for reading that rant;) Robert |

No, there is no real way to "encourage" the download of S@H WUs. You could try increasing your cache size when you know that S@H is giving out work. However, if you miss, you will get more Predictor. BOINC is operating as expected in regards to multiple projects. It's just that S@H keeps going down. It's not Predictor's fault. <a> [/url] |

In the long term a time will come when this would mean that predictor is not getting the attention that you want it to. John Keck BOINCing since 2002/12/08 |
